Albert Kortendijk wins Marche-en-Famenne Othello Open 2016

Albert Kortendijk wins Marche-en-Famenne Othello Open 2016 20 February 2016

Albert Kortendijk has secured another victory in Marche-en-Famenne. Also in 2014 he managed to win the first tournament of the Belgian Othello season. Six players made the journey to Marche-en-Famenne of which Frédéric Nicholls made his first appearance. He played very well, but only won against Nancy Darck. At some point he had a winning position against Albert Kortendijk at move 48 (+10), but it was too hard to detect. But we all have to admit that he is a good deal for Belgian Othello.

Back to the tournament: Albert Kortendijk lost only one game (against Tom Schotte in round), but it was Brecht Van Damme who was leading the pack until he eventually lost against Albert Kortendijk in round 5. Before that he clinched victories against Tom Schotte and Linda Praseptyo, rated significantly higher than him in the rating list. All players won at least one game: Nancy Darck won against Linda Praseptyo in round 5.
