2nd ReuzeSpelPlezier Othello Open attracts a record of 13 players 29 September 2018

No less than 13 players attended the 3rd ReuzeSpelPlezier Othello Open. It's starting the become a traditional evening tournament in the game specialty shop in Zottegem, Eastern Flanders. Of those 13 players, there were 3 advanced (Tom, Brecht and Akke-lien), 7 promising (Bart, Mieke, Ruben, Eline, Jana, Wout and Sander) and 3 new players (Marijn, Lien and Silke).

It turned out to be a close finish among the advanced players, with Brecht defeating Tom in the very last round. The latter just remained 9 discs ahead of Akke-lien and 12 of Brecht. There were more close finishes: Marijn and Lien obtained 3 points after defeating all non-advanced players they met. Marijn just got 8 discs more across the five games. Mieke turned out to be the best promising player with 2 points. Also Jana got 2 points and became best junior player. Also worth mentioning is the performance of Silke, who only played two game but won one.

The 4th ReuzeSpelPlezier Othello Open will be held somewhere in March 2019. The date will be announced later.
