Friendly family event in Ostend
9 November 2025On the occasion of a friends’ weekend, a friendly Othello tournament was organized. Of the thirteen participants, nine had previously taken part in one or more Othello tournaments. Wout, Sander, Eva, Stan, and Lars had experience in multiple tournaments, while Eleen, Anna, Felix, and Norah had each participated in one. Daan, Bert, Martha, and Klara were making their debut.
Prizes could be won in various categories. Four rounds spread over two days determined the winners. Eva remained undefeated and won in the “promising” category, while Wout was the best beginner. Bert, in turn, was the best newcomer. In the U12 category, Norah took the win, and Wout was the best in the U18 group. Both Eleen and Sander won three of their four matches. Sander and Eva played an exciting final game, as both had won their first three matches.
